The New Patent Purchase Program
The Only Patent Purchase Platform Created For Patent Owners and Investors
IMS is pleased to announce the only Patent Purchase Platform that is created to connect patent owners and investors interested in purchasing patents for monetization or other purposes.
If you are interested in selling your patent or patents, and if you are frustrated by the inflexible terms offered by other patent purchase programs, PPP is the right platform for you.
The PPP submission process is simple: there is no obligation on you to transact; there is no submission deadline and we will consider the submissions on a rolling-basis until our acquisition target is met; and, there are no “non-notice” clauses which may affect your rights to worry about.
Furthermore, there is no need to submit claim charts or evidence of use, although portfolios submitted with such supplemental information will be considered more favorably. Likewise, there is no need to commit to a selling price.
Our interests span multiple technology categories, including but not limited to, computer software, computer systems, consumer electronics, information technology, cloud computing, networking and communication equipment, wireless, semiconductor, components, location-based services and fintech. While our interest areas have a “Silicon Valley” focus, patents in other technology areas will be considered as well.
Please read our FAQ if you have more questions about PPP and the submission process. We look forward to reviewing your patent portfolio. We invite all innovators and entrepreneurs to work with us.

FAQ for Patent Purchase Partnership
What is PPP?
Patent Purchase Platform (“PPP”) is created by IMS to offer patent owners a quick and easy way to access investors and other purchasers in the patent marketplace. While other patent purchase programs claim patent sellers will receive fair value for their patents, our platform welcomes submissions from patent owners who are frustrated by the inflexible terms offered by other purchasers and those who received less than fair offers from such purchasers.
How is PPP different than AST’s Patent Purchase Program?
Like AST’s IP3, PPP offers patent sellers the ability to sell patents across a wide array of industries. However, PPP presents terms that are flexible and seller-friendly.
For instance, patent owners are not obligated to commit to a sale price. There is also no fixed deadline for submission as we will consider all portfolios until our acquisition target has been met.
Another significant difference is that we would consider supplemental information, such as evidence of use, claim charts, etc. Supplemental information is not required, but it would help us prioritize our review and expedite the process. There is no requirement for a “non-notice” clause.
Who can make a submission to PPP?
If you are a US patent owner or a representative or agent of a US patent owner, you can make a submission to PPP.
What are the submission guidelines?
PPP accepts patent submissions on a rolling basis. IMS will make every effort to respond within two months from the date of submission, during which time the patent owner can continue to solicit offers other interested parties.
Will you consider patents from any technology area?
Yes, our interest areas include but not limited to: computer software, computer systems, consumer electronics, information technology, cloud computing, networking and communication equipment, wireless, semiconductor, components, location-based services and fintech. US patents in others areas will also be considered.
Can I submit more than one patent family?
While we prefer to accept one patent family per submission, you are free to make multiple submissions or include multiple patent families in one submission.
Do I have to sell the entire patent family?
No. You are free to sell one or more patents in a patent family.
If I submit assets to PPP and then change my mind, can I cancel?
Yes, unless agreed to otherwise in writing.
Can we submit pending applications for review?
Yes.
What about provisionals?
If a provisional is a part of a family with at least one issued patent or pending application, and you would like us to consider the provisional together with the issued patent or pending application, please submit it. We would not consider a stand-alone provisional application, however.
What about Design Patents?
Yes, we will consider Design Patents.
What about Expired Patents?
Yes, we will consider expired patents.
Would you license patents?
This platform will only consider patents available for acquisition. Please feel free to contact IMS via email if you are interested in working with IMS to exclusively license your patents.
How do I submit claim charts or EOU?
Please check the Supplemental Information Available box in the submission form. IMS will contact you to arrange for a way to access such information.
If PPP buys my patent, can I still practice the invention?
Yes. We can include a grant back license in the Patent Purchase Agreement. A standard grant back license typically includes the following language: “As of the Effective Date, Assignee hereby grants to Assignor for the life of all the Patents, an irrevocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-assignable (including by operation of law or otherwise), non-sub-licensable, worldwide, fully paid-up right and license under the Patents, to develop, have developed, make, have made, use, have used, sell, offer to sell, import, export and otherwise transfer or dispose of any product, service, method or process.”
Do you have a standard Patent Purchase Agreement? Will you consider edits to the Patent Purchase Agreement?
Yes. Here’s the standard Patent Purchase Agreement.[Link]
How do I know what Technology Category to select?
If you are unsure, please check the Other Categories box. We will review each and every submission regardless of which Technology Category you select.
What will the PPP end?
Although we have access to significant funding, PPP will end when we have reached our acquisition target.
Will I know which investors/purchasers are interested in my patent?
You will not know which particular investors/purchasers are interest in your patent.
Who can I contact for more information?
